Clobetasol propionate topical solution (Impeklo)

Impeklo is the topical lotion of Clobetasol propionate.

Besides Impeklo, Clobetasol is already available in other dosage forms including topical lotion (Clobex and its generic equivalents).

Both Impeklo and Clobex are 0.05% topical lotion of Clobetasol. Both of them contain similar excipients and are indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.

Advantage of Impeklo over Clobex:

Clobex lotion is supplied in HDPE squeeze bottles with a disc-top closure while Impeklo will be supplied in a bottle with a metered dose pump. This metered dose pump can accurately administer the precise dosages at the desired site of action.

Mylan is the NDA holder of Impeklo. Based on the prescribing information (See here), Impeklo is manufactured by Lupin. Lupin has also filed a patent application that may cover Impeklo (See here).
