Celecoxib oral Solution (Elyxyb)

Elyxyb is the first USFDA approved liquid dosage form of Celecoxib.

Besides Elyxyb, Celecoxib is also available as oral tablets and oral capsules dosage forms.

As mentioned in Dr. Reddy’s press release, “ELYXYB is an oral solution of celecoxib formulated using a self-micro emulsifying drug delivery system that improves solubility and bioavailability of the drug leading to better absorption. This allows for administration of a lower dose without affecting bioavailability.” See below approval details of ELYXYB.

Indication: for the acute treatment of migraine with or without aura in adults.

Excipients employed in Elyxyb: acesulfame potassium, banana flavor, bubble gum flavor, ethyl alcohol, glycerin, glyceryl monocaprylate, L-menthol, lauroyl polyoxyl-32 glycerides, medium chain triglycerides, monoammonium glycyrrhizinate, peppermint flavor, polyoxyl 35 castor oil, polyoxyl 40 hydrogenated castor oil, propyl gallate, purified water, and sucralose.
